This is an attempt to recreate the famous Art work of one of the most celebrated painters of India-Jamini Roy. Jamini Roy was one of the earliest and most significant modernists of Indian art. He sought inspiration from East Asian calligraphy, terracotta temple friezes, folk arts and crafts traditions. He created more than 20,000 paintings throughout his life which made the contemporary critics to call him The art Machine. One of his most famous work is “Ramayana” which is spread across 17 canvases. His art is majorly influenced by the beauty of the villages of Bengal. The simplicity of the working class people has always allured him to create masterpieces. This work is done with the help of watercolour on paper.
