SHINJINI BISWAS (CLASS VIII)  DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, NORTH KOLKATA Kalighat painting originated in the 19th century, in West Bengal. it has been used ever since to depict Hindu Gods and mythological creatures . It was also used to replicate moments of everyday life.this style of painting is characterized by bright colours and bold outlines. This type of painting is usually painted on paper or cloth. Here in relation to the topic " Heal the World", I have painted a scene which shows a woman donating clothes to poor children who are deprived of every luxurious items. Behind them I have drawn an Earth which has been put back with a bandage showing the healing of the world. the woman's economical state can be understood by her rich clothes. She is giving away clothes to the needy people who cannot afford such things. For this art, I have used acrylic paint. This is only a minimum step by which we can share happiness among others.

TANISHA NAYAK (CLASS VI) DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL NORTH KOLKATA Pattochitra is an old traditional art form of Odisha and West Bengal. It is a cloth based scroll painting. It evolved from Sanskrit. When broken down into two parts, patta means cloth and chitra means picture. Hence, pattochitra is a picture painted on a piece of cloth. This form of art is closely related to the cult of Shri Jagannath and the temple traditions in Puri. This art originated in the 12th Century. It is the most popular living art forms and the people of Odisha practice it to this day. raghurajpur is a famous place for Pattachitra. My art work wants to convey the message that the trees not only provide shelter to animals, humans and birds and provide us with food but also help in cleaning the Earth by bringing rain, providing fresh air and also protect us from many other adversities. They save the Earth from getting destroyed. I feel plantation of trees is one of the best ways to save the Earth.

SEMANTIKA BOSE (CLASS VII)   DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL NORTH KOLKATA   The art form through which I have aimed to portray the theme "Heal the World"is Madhubani Art, an Indian folk art. Madhubani art is a technique of Indian folk art observed in the Mithila region of Indian subcontinent. It is distinguished by figures that are conspicuously bordered and they are also ell known for their complex geometrical patterns."Heal the World" means to make the world a better place and shield it from any harm that can come to it. A pollution-free Earth with green and blue colour (as it is known as the Blue Planet) is depicted in the drawing. A bird is dancing on the Earth to enjoy the feel of the world. The flowers are also blooming and birds are singing on the branches of the trees. A lady is shown preserving the world.
