Gond paintings are a form of painting from folk and tribal art that is practiced by one of the largest tribes in India- the Gond. Their origin can be traced to the pre-Aryan era. Gond comes from the Dravidian expression, Kond which means ‘the green mountain’.Gond art comes with the belief that a good image brings good luck. The colours and use of elements in the painting create a sense of harmony, balance and makes one feel serene.
